About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential global marketplace organization in their search for a Principal Brand Designer based in Spain or Portugal. This is a highly strategic, hands-on individual contributor role where you'll define visual principles, creative systems, and brand standards across a diverse portfolio of consumer brands reaching millions of users worldwide.
Reporting to senior design leadership, you'll partner closely with marketing, brand strategy, product design, and regional teams to translate business objectives into cohesive creative systems that strengthen brand equity and accelerate execution across the organization. You'll establish the creative vision and quality bar while building frameworks and governance that enable global teams to create distinctive, consistent brand experiences.
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the visual identity and creative direction across a portfolio of global brands, ensuring brands feel connected where appropriate and distinctive where needed
- Develop and maintain group-wide brand identity systems, visual standards, design principles, and multi-brand design systems
- Build scalable creative systems powered by AI, developing AI-ready design systems, prompt libraries, reusable templates, and automation workflows
- Establish the benchmark for brand design application across product launches, executive communications, presentations, employer branding, events, and marketing initiatives
- Provide creative direction, critique, and hands-on design leadership to ensure exceptional craft and clarity
- Partner with marketing and brand strategy to transform customer insights and business priorities into compelling visual systems
- Drive adoption of brand standards through documentation, enablement programs, design resources, and governance models
- Influence senior stakeholders across product, marketing, and executive leadership to align teams around a shared creative vision
- Mentor designers through critique and collaboration, fostering a culture of craftsmanship and systems thinking
What We're Looking For
Required Experience & Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in brand design or visual design
- Demonstrated experience building or evolving brands at scale across multiple products or markets
- Expert-level proficiency in Figma and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating work across visual identity, typography, layout, storytelling, motion, and digital experiences
- Proven ability to build frameworks, governance models, templates, and design systems that enable consistent execution
- Experience building or contributing to enterprise design systems
- Deep familiarity with AI-powered creative tools and workflows, with ability to incorporate AI into creative practice
- Experience with motion design, storytelling, and digital brand experiences
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to partner with marketing, brand strategy, and executive stakeholders to translate positioning into creative systems
- Track record of influencing without authority and building trusted relationships across organizations
