People Operations Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client seeking a People Operations Lead in London. This is a strategic, high-ownership role for someone who sees People Operations as a scalable system rather than traditional HR administration. Our client is a fast-growing organization serving global markets, and they need a systems-minded leader to transform their People function through automation, AI-enabled workflows, and data infrastructure.

This is a fully office-based position requiring five days per week on-site attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the People Operations team, setting strategic direction and raising execution standards as the organization scales
• Own the People Operations strategy and AI-enabled transformation agenda, designing scalable systems across payroll, compensation, reporting, and operational workflows to achieve 80–90% automation of routine processes
• Build people data infrastructure and self-serve dashboards covering headcount, attrition, hiring pipeline, and compensation to enable data-driven workforce decisions
• Manage compensation and role governance, including salary banding, benchmarking, and levelling frameworks to maintain competitiveness and consistency
• Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across Finance, Legal, and other functions, connecting people data with business planning
• Institutionalize goal-setting and management operations across the organization
• Own the internal knowledge function, maintaining current and accessible documentation and self-service resources
• Define the future operating model for People Operations as the organization expands into new markets

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in high-performing, analytical environments such as consulting, business operations, finance, or fast-growing startups, including experience leading a function or team
• Strategic and transformative mindset with capability to rethink traditional processes and drive organizational change
• Strong track record of building and owning systems and processes from scratch at scale
• Highly analytical with comfort building dashboards, working with data, and using metrics to drive decisions
• AI-native approach, actively using AI tools to automate workflows and increase efficiency
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to work across functions and influence others
• Proven people leadership experience building, managing, and developing high-performing teams
• Execution-oriented with ability to take ideas from concept to implementation
• Organized with systems to stay on track in fast-paced environments
• Outgoing personality with passion for building meaningful relationships
