Engineering Manager, Channels & Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company that is scaling rapidly across multiple product lines. They need an Engineering Manager to own day-to-day execution for their Channels and Platform teams while their current leadership focuses on strategy and growth.

This is a high-trust, high-autonomy role for someone who has managed engineers through ambiguity before. You'll own delivery cadence, unblock engineers proactively, and help senior team members grow—without unnecessary process or bureaucracy.

Responsibilities

• Delivery Ownership (~50%): Run weekly cadence for Channels and Analytics teams, sequence priorities with product and engineering leadership, unblock engineers before issues escalate, and co-author technical debt plans with your team
• Developer Experience (~25%): Identify and remove friction that slows engineers down, bring structure only where it adds speed, resist process for its own sake
• People Development (~25%): Conduct 1:1s that sharpen thinking, deliver direct feedback, coach senior engineers toward leadership roles, and support hiring efforts
• Maintain context across multiple product workstreams spinning up in parallel
• Partner with engineering leadership on scope changes and team structure; own everything else independently

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Requirements:

• 3+ years managing engineers in a product delivery capacity—you've owned outcomes, not just reports
• Startup or scale-up experience where you built structure from scratch without a safety net
• Genuine AI/LLM fluency: practical understanding of agentic systems, evals, and model reliability in production
• Technical credibility that earns respect from senior engineers
• Comfortable operating across European timezones in a fully distributed environment

Strong Differentiators:

• Experience with security, compliance, or SOC 2-adjacent work
• Managed without dedicated TPMs or staff engineers as support
• Coached senior engineers who need a thought partner, not a process enforcer
• Track record of shipping real features, not just growing headcount or org charts

• Your primary achievements center on reporting lines rather than what actually shipped

Pay
