Cloud Infrastructure Lead (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting firm in München that is scaling its advisory services across Germany. Our client serves thousands of mid-market companies and is building cloud infrastructure from the ground up to support AI-driven automation and modern consulting delivery. This is not a legacy IT maintenance role—you will architect and own the entire technical foundation for a growing organization.

As Cloud Infrastructure Lead, you will report to the Head of Operations and work closely with automation and AI teams who depend on the systems you build. You will be responsible for the complete system landscape: identity management, M365, endpoint management, network infrastructure, industry-specific applications, and Azure cloud architecture. The natural progression leads to technical and personnel leadership of an expanding Tech Operations function.

Responsibilities

Infrastructure Architecture & Delivery

• Own the entire system landscape including identity (Entra/AD), M365, endpoint management, network, specialized consulting software, and Azure cloud environments
• Design provisioning and administration so new employees, new locations, and new client engagements go live without manual workarounds—your standard is that systems must scale to double headcount without doubling manual effort
• Make architectural decisions as conscious choices, not inherited compromises

Security, Automation & AI Foundations

• Lead information security and data privacy at the infrastructure level for a regulated consulting environment handling highly confidential client data
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and routine administration using Infrastructure-as-Code rather than click-based manual processes
• Establish the technical foundation for AI and automation initiatives: secure data access, compute environments, and interfaces

Tech Operations Team & Integration

• Provide technical and personnel leadership for the Tech Operations team and scale it alongside organizational growth—hiring, coaching, setting standards
• Own IT cutover for each new office acquisition, ensuring systems, identities, and data integrate cleanly into the unified landscape
• Work in an environment that is hierarchical in decision-making, flat in communication, and autonomous in execution

Milestones

• 6 months: Full infrastructure assessment completed, critical security and maintainability risks resolved, employee onboarding automated, and cloud/identity target architecture defined with initial steps implemented
• 12 months: Core systems provisioned and monitored via automation, infrastructure foundation for AI initiatives operational, first Tech Operations hires onboarded
• 24 months: Leading a functioning Tech Operations team, at least one acquisition cutover completed, infrastructure demonstrably scaling without proportional headcount growth

What We're Looking For

Experience & Track Record

• You have built and operated IT infrastructure in cloud environments—Azure-focused, including identity (Entra/AD), M365, and endpoint management
• You have automated infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, scripting, and provisioning pipelines—not just manual administration
• You have owned information security at the infrastructure layer and understand what confidentiality means in regulated contexts
• Candidates with non-standard backgrounds but demonstrable infrastructure depth and a build-versus-operate track record are explicitly welcome

Skills & Working Style

• You command cloud architecture and operations beyond configuration—you design systems others can operate
• You use AI as a natural tool for automation, diagnostics, scripting, and multiplying your own output—repetitive administration is a trigger for automation, not a fate to accept
• You communicate technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders: executives, business units, new locations
• Fluency in German required; this role involves deep collaboration with German-speaking teams and clients

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai is competitive and reflects the specialized nature of this infrastructure leadership role in the München market. Compensation details will be discussed transparently during the screening process and are based on your specific experience profile and market positioning.
