About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential logistics technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack for their London team. This is a hybrid role requiring approximately 3 days per week in the office.
Our client operates a complex, high-scale marketplace platform serving millions of users daily. Their engineering teams build real-time systems that power critical logistics operations across multiple markets.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale backend services and frontend components that handle high-traffic workloads (20,000+ requests per minute)
- Lead architectural improvements and conduct code reviews to ensure system efficiency, visibility, and operational health
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to plan projects, identify dependencies, and mitigate technical risks
- Break down complex technical problems into deliverable solutions and influence team roadmap and technical direction
- Mentor engineering colleagues and participate actively in hiring to build high-performing teams
- Operate and maintain web architecture at significant scale across the full technology stack
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience building web-based applications in modern programming languages (Go, Ruby, Python, Scala, or similar)
- Proven ability to design and operate web systems at scale, handling substantial request volumes
- Strong expertise with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (Redis, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch)
- Track record of writing readable, well-designed, thoroughly tested code
- Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills with experience guiding technical implementation and supporting teammate growth
- Ability to work on-site in London approximately 3 days per week
