About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential defense technology organization seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer II to be based in London. This role sits at the intersection of customer success and technical implementation, supporting enterprise clients as they deploy advanced autonomy software for unmanned systems across multiple domains.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll serve as the technical bridge between our client's engineering teams and their customers, ensuring successful integration and adoption of AI-powered autonomy platforms. This position requires approximately 30% travel to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Master enterprise autonomy software development kits and become the go-to expert for customer implementations
- Develop AI and autonomy applications for unmanned platforms across air, sea, land, and space domains
- Deploy AI infrastructure at customer sites and provide hands-on technical support
- Deliver technical training to customers for their autonomy development initiatives
- Assist customers in integrating autonomy software to their vehicles and platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and API integration issues in customer environments
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to communicate customer feedback and drive product improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials
- Support the sales team by addressing complex technical questions from prospective customers
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 2+ years of industry experience (reduced with Master's or PhD qualifications)
- Technical background in software engineering
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ development
- Intermediate proficiency in Python programming
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing work
- Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 30% of the time
Preferred:
- Experience in defense, aviation, or robotics industries
