About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential defense technology organization seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to be based in London. In this role, you'll serve as the technical bridge between our client's enterprise autonomy software platform and their end users, delivering hands-on implementation support, training, and integration expertise for AI-driven unmanned systems across multiple domains.
This position requires approximately 30% travel to customer sites and offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge autonomous systems technology in a mission-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Master the enterprise autonomy software development kit and become the go-to expert for customer-facing technical questions
- Develop AI and autonomy applications for unmanned platforms operating across air, sea, land, and space environments
- Deploy AI infrastructure at customer sites, ensuring smooth integration with existing systems
- Deliver technical training sessions to customers on autonomy development workflows and best practices
- Support customers in integrating autonomy software with their vehicles and platforms
- Troubleshoot and resolve software and API integration issues in real-time customer environments
- Partner with product and engineering teams to relay customer feedback and drive product improvements
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and training materials
- Provide sales enablement by addressing complex technical inquiries from prospective customers
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in modern C++ programming
- Intermediate proficiency in Python
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Willingness to travel to customer sites approximately 30% of the time
Preferred:
- Experience in the defense, aviation, or robotics sectors
