Product Architect & Software Engineer (AI) (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a regulated financial services organization in Munich seeking a senior product architect and software engineer to build and own the software that runs the business. You will design and build applications across customer-facing platforms, contract and asset management, financial workflows, and internal tooling. This is not a ticket queue — you own the roadmap, the technical decisions, and the delivery.

You will lead the AI practice: identify where language models and automation deliver business value, build working prototypes, ship them into production, and monitor quality, cost, and compliance. You will integrate the platform with banking and payment partners, e-signature providers, credit data sources, and accounting systems, ensuring those connections remain reliable.

Security, auditability, and regulatory requirements are treated as first-class constraints from day one. You will present technical options and decisions directly to senior management, with decision cycles measured in days, not quarters.

What We're Looking For

• You have built software that is in production and used daily, and you have carried the architecture of at least one such system from design through operation.
• You have shipped AI features beyond a demo — integrating language models or ML into real workflows, with evaluation, monitoring, and a cost model in place.
• Broad technical fluency across backend, data, web frontend, and cloud infrastructure, with the readiness to own cross-cutting architecture decisions.
• You can explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders in plain language and make the case for them convincingly.
• Fluent English or German.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Munich.
• Experience in regulated or financial environments (leasing, banking, payments, insurance) is helpful but not required; curiosity about the constraints of building software in regulated settings matters more.
