Principal Product & Brand Designer (m/f/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing AI company in Berlin that is transforming a deeply traditional industry with intelligent automation. Our client is building tools that enable domain experts to work alongside AI agents, bringing superhuman capabilities to professional workflows that shape trust in critical systems worldwide.

This is a rare opportunity to join as the design voice at a pivotal growth stage. You'll own both product and brand, working directly with founders to define how the company looks, feels, and earns trust with skeptical, quality-focused users. Roughly 70% product design, 30% brand—all of it strategic, all of it visible.

Responsibilities

• Design intuitive interfaces for complex, expert-facing AI and automation workflows
• Own the visual identity across all touchpoints: website, marketing materials, sales decks, newsletters, and event assets
• Collaborate directly with founders, engineers, and customers to translate technical capabilities into delightful user experiences
• Evolve and maintain the design system to support rapid product iteration
• Conduct usability testing and build user feedback loops to inform design decisions
• Shape product vision and roadmap through systems-level design thinking
• Produce brand materials that will be presented in boardrooms, sent to enterprise customers, and displayed at industry events

What We're Looking For

• Proven product design experience in B2B SaaS environments, preferably at fast-moving startups
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking—you turn configuration-heavy, expert workflows into clear, elegant interfaces
• Taste you can defend: you think in experiences, not screens, and can articulate why design decisions work or don't
• Brand sensibility that goes beyond aesthetics—you understand how identity, marketing, and web presence create draw rather than friction
• Comfort working in ambiguity; you take rough direction and deliver excellent work with minimal supervision
• Experience integrating AI tools thoughtfully—you know which parts benefit from automation and which require human judgment
• Low ego, high collaboration: best idea wins, and you give and take feedback constructively
• Ability to balance depth and breadth across product and brand design
• Principal-level craft or extensive freelance experience at senior levels

Location: Berlin (on-site expected for collaboration)
