About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential project controls consultancy seeking a Senior Planner with active SC clearance to join their team in Derby. Our client works across major construction and infrastructure projects throughout the UK, and this role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile programmes in a collaborative environment.
This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week on site in Derby, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Develop robust, realistic and defensible schedule estimates for construction works
- Define the Basis of Estimate for construction schedule scope, including key assumptions and exclusions
- Work closely with Cost and Risk Management teams to ensure alignment of estimates and assumptions
- Support the Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) process alongside the Risk team
- Identify and manage key internal and external interfaces including procurement, consents, and dependent projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders to secure buy-in to construction schedules
- Validate schedule estimates using benchmark data and design information (BIM)
- Review supplier schedule submissions and ensure integration with master programmes
- Manage schedule hierarchy, integration points, and change control processes
What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- Active SC security clearance (mandatory)
- Proven experience in a construction or infrastructure environment
- Strong scheduling expertise, including proficiency in Primavera P6
- Solid MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Confidence building schedules from first principles and reviewing supplier submissions
- Understanding of schedule hierarchy, integration, and change control processes
- Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with a collaborative approach
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and commitment to continuous improvement
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in construction, engineering, project management, or related field
- Knowledge of QSRA, design processes, and CDM regulations
- Experience in stakeholder management
- Membership of APM, AACE, PMI or similar professional body (with certifications)
- Experience using Power BI and other reporting or analytics tools
