MTLA (Mensch) – Mikrobiologie, Infektionsdiagnostik & Labormedizin | Labor Mainz

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential medical diagnostics laboratory in Mainz seeking an experienced MTLA (Medizinisch-technischer Laborassistent) to join their microbiology and infection diagnostics team. In this role, you will:

• Process and analyze diverse biological samples including stool, urine, drinking water, and various other specimen types
• Cultivate and identify bacterial cultures using colony morphology assessment, microscopy, and biochemical testing methods
• Perform fungal diagnostics including dermatophytes, yeasts, and mold identification
• Conduct microscopic and immunological detection of parasites and amoebae
• Utilize advanced identification systems including MALDI-TOF and Vitek-XL for pathogen identification and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
• Execute microbiological drinking water analyses focusing on Legionella, Pseudomonas, and colony count assessments
• Support quality management activities including internal and external quality controls and standard operating procedure documentation

What We're Looking For

• Qualified MTLA (Medizinisch-technischer Laborassistent) certification required
• Previous experience in microbiology, laboratory medicine, or infection diagnostics strongly preferred
• Independent, meticulous, and team-oriented working style
• Excellent German language skills (minimum C1 level) for documentation and collaboration
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards in diagnostic procedures
