Planner (SC Cleared)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential project controls consultancy seeking an experienced Planner with active SC Clearance to join their team in Glasgow. Our client operates in the construction and infrastructure sector, delivering innovative project management solutions across the UK. This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring two days per week on-site in Glasgow, with an immediate start available.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of robust, realistic, and defensible construction schedules
• Develop schedule estimates for construction works, ensuring alignment with project scope, delivery strategy, and key assumptions
• Support the definition of the Basis of Estimate for construction schedule scope, including assumptions, exclusions, and constraints
• Build and maintain project schedules while ensuring schedule quality, logic, integration, and governance
• Collaborate with Cost and Risk Management teams to ensure alignment of estimates, assumptions, and schedule impacts
• Work with the Risk team to support the Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA) process
• Identify and manage key internal and external interfaces including procurement, consents, dependent projects, and delivery milestones
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to build support for construction schedules
• Review supplier and contractor schedules, challenging logic, assumptions, progress, and deliverability as needed
• Support validation of schedule estimates through benchmark data, design information, and BIM

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Active SC security clearance (required prior to application)
• Experience working in a construction or infrastructure environment
• Solid scheduling experience, including proficiency with Primavera P6
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Confidence building schedules from first principles and reviewing supplier submissions
• Understanding of schedule hierarchy, integration, governance, and change control
• Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contracts
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset
• Ability to support planning discussions with internal teams, clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree or equivalent in construction, engineering, project management, or related field
• Knowledge of QSRA, design processes, and CDM regulations
• Experience in stakeholder management
• Membership of APM, AACE, PMI, or similar professional bodies
• Experience using Power BI and other reporting/analytics tools
