Senior Deep Learning Research Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential computer vision technology company in their search for a Senior Deep Learning Research Engineer. This organization develops advanced AI models that run on edge devices and integrate with cloud-based systems to power real-world applications at massive scale. You'll work on cutting-edge problems combining tiny AI models with multimodal large language models, shipping features to millions of deployed devices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize multimodal large language models for both cloud and edge deployments, enabling new AI capabilities for end users
• Design and train extremely efficient neural networks with minimal memory footprints while maximizing accuracy for computer vision tasks
• Build and improve data pipelines, model architectures, and training infrastructure using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and distributed computing platforms
• Deploy training jobs on Kubernetes clusters, work with data warehousing solutions, and leverage GPU infrastructure for model development
• Research novel approaches and implement practical solutions to challenging problems in on-device AI inference
• Prototype new features and demonstrations to validate technical approaches before production deployment

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python proficiency
• Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Keras, or JAX
• Proven track record in computer vision and multimodal large language models
• Experience shipping neural networks to production environments
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to London (flexible working with 2 days per week in office)

Nice to have:

• Industry experience with efficient inference deployments on cloud or edge platforms
• Background in Deep Reinforcement Learning
