About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Risk Management team in Berlin. Our client operates a global payments platform and is experiencing rapid growth. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex technical challenges at massive scale, building products that directly impact how businesses handle disputes and chargebacks across multiple payment methods.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll own products end-to-end, make architectural decisions, and mentor other engineers while working in a highly collaborative, autonomous environment. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days per week on-site in Berlin.
Responsibilities
- Own and architect full-stack products and services, including backend systems and user interfaces for risk management platforms such as disputes and chargebacks solutions
- Design and build scalable, secure products that handle high-volume payment transactions and ensure compliance with regulations like GDPR
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical direction and solve complex problems in the disputes and chargebacks domain
- Participate in agile methodologies including pair and mob programming sessions
- Take full operational responsibility for services, including participation in on-call rotations
- Mentor and support other engineers while contributing to team culture and engineering best practices
- Work with modern cloud technologies to deliver solutions at scale
What We're Looking For
- Multiple years of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Proven track record designing and building scalable products and services
- Experience with AWS cloud services and Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Experience or strong interest in disputes, chargebacks, or risk management systems
- Comfort making UI changes in React; full-stack experience is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to articulate technical tradeoffs to diverse audiences
- Results-oriented mindset with collaborative aGet A Job.aiach and commitment to continuous improvement
- Working proficiency in English
