Senior Product Manager (ISR) Defence & Intelligence (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential geospatial analytics organization in their search for a Senior Product Manager specializing in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. This is a hybrid role based in Berlin, requiring on-site presence at least two days per week.

You will own the product and delivery function for defense and intelligence solutions, managing AI-based ISR capabilities including object and change detection in very high-resolution satellite imagery, 3D terrain products, and analytics applications. You will drive customer-facing defense products end-to-end from a product management perspective, building roadmaps that connect customer timelines, operational concepts, and technical maturity into executable plans for engineering and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the ISR product lifecycle, taking imagery intelligence applications from demonstration to deployable production systems in secure on-premise and air-gapped environments
• Manage product backlog in two-week sprint cycles, translating operational needs into written requirements and user stories that engineering teams can execute
• Deliver defense projects end-to-end, owning scope, milestones, deliverables, and stakeholder communication for customer-facing engagements
• Build and maintain product roadmaps that reconcile project timelines, operational concepts, and component readiness
• Serve as the ISR subject matter authority, providing operational depth on the intelligence cycle, collection and tasking, and imagery exploitation workflows
• Conduct workshops and user sessions, gather structured feedback, demonstrate products, and support proposals with operational substance
• Work cross-functionally with ML engineers, full-stack engineers, geospatial data engineers, sales, and pre-sales teams
• Interface directly with military and agency users, partners, and integrators in requirements sessions and user testing

What We're Looking For

• Professional ISR, GEOINT, or IMINT background in military, intelligence community, defense procurement, or defense industry roles
• Real operational fluency in the intelligence cycle, collection and tasking, and imagery product workflows at staff level
• Proven ability to translate operational needs into written requirements and drive cross-functional work to deadlines
• German citizenship or European citizenship with eligibility to obtain German security clearance (Sicherheitsüberprüfung)
• Native or fully fluent German and professional English proficiency
• Willingness to work hybrid in Berlin (minimum two days per week on-site) and travel within Germany to customer sites
• Strong ownership mentality with clear communication and collaborative approach
• Pragmatic mindset balancing operational ambition with realistic delivery scope
• Comfort working with complexity and turning ambiguity into actionable structure

Preferred qualifications:

• Product management or product ownership experience with backlog management and sprint cadence
• Project management experience in defense or publicly funded programs (national, EU, NATO)
• Experience writing CONOPS, operational requirements, or capability documents
• Familiarity with satellite imagery, remote sensing, or AI/ML products
• Experience delivering software into secure on-premise or air-gapped environments
• Existing valid German security clearance (SÜ2 / SÜ3)
• Working knowledge of NATO standards and interoperability for imagery and geospatial data

Technical environment: Linear, Confluence, Google Workspace, Figma, QGIS, STAC-based imagery catalogs, very high-resolution optical imagery, synthetic aperture radar, 3D surface models, secure and air-gapped deployment environments.
