Werkstudent Enterprise Risk Management (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a working student to join their Enterprise Risk Management function. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in risk governance, internal controls, and operational risk management while contributing to meaningful improvements in processes and reporting. The role reports directly to senior finance leadership and offers exposure across multiple business functions.

You'll work remotely with one day per week in Düsseldorf, balancing your studies with practical experience in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and analyze risk data, incident records, and control information to support decision-making and risk mitigation activities
• Identify opportunities to digitalize manual or recurring tasks through workflow automation and AI applications, focusing on practical problem-solving rather than specific tool expertise
• Transform complex risk and control data into clear management presentations, dashboards, and board-level decision papers using Excel and visualization techniques
• Prepare documentation and evidence for internal and external audits, ensuring completeness and tracking remediation actions through to completion
• Coordinate information gathering and alignment across different departments, documenting outcomes and next steps clearly
• Support continuous improvement of risk management standards and the internal control framework

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a degree program such as Business Informatics, Business Administration, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a comparable field
• Strong analytical mindset with genuine interest in data, processes, and risk management
• Solid Excel skills and enthusiasm for learning new systems, digital workflows, and AI applications
• Detail-oriented approach with ability to set priorities, take ownership, and proactively contribute ideas
• Effective communication skills in both German and English, with ability to collaborate across departments and present findings clearly
• Ability to work independently while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
• Available to work flexible hours that accommodate your study schedule, with one day per week on-site in Düsseldorf
