Full-stack Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Munich that is building autonomous systems at scale. Our talent team is seeking an experienced Full-stack Engineer to join their Platform Team and own the internal software that drives manufacturing, testing, and deployment operations.

This is not a customer-facing role. You will build applications for engineers and production teams in-house—tools that track system configurations, support manufacturing processes, and turn operational data into actionable insights. Your work directly impacts how quickly hardware can be built, tested, and delivered.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own internal web applications end-to-end, covering frontend, backend, data model, and deployment
• Develop tooling that supports manufacturing operations, where interface clarity and correctness directly affect hardware outcomes
• Build and maintain configuration and traceability applications that connect engineering, production, and business systems
• Extend ML and data tooling so operational data flows reliably from field systems into datasets, models, and back into production
• Integrate heterogeneous systems (PLM, ERP, version control, device fleet, data platform) through robust APIs and clean interfaces
• Work directly with engineers, operators, and test teams who use your software, translating their problems into simple, durable solutions
• Take ownership of reliability, as these applications are part of the critical development and production path

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 4+ years of professional experience building and operating production web applications, with clear depth in at least one half of the stack and solid competence in the other
• Strong backend engineering in a modern language such as Python, Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, TypeScript/Node, or comparable
• Practical frontend experience with a component-based framework (React, Angular, Vue, or similar) and the judgment to design interfaces usable under time pressure
• Sound relational data modeling and practical experience with relational databases
• Confident with containerization, version control workflows, and CI/CD; able to deploy, monitor, and debug your own services
• Proven ownership of an internal tool or platform: gathering requirements from colleagues, scoping realistically, and maintaining the result over time
• Pragmatic engineering approach—building robustly where correctness matters and deliberately simply everywhere else
• Structured problem solver with a hands-on mindset and bias toward shipping
• Fluent in English; German is beneficial
• Valid work permit for Germany (visa sponsorship not available)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with manufacturing, MES, PLM, or ERP systems, or with software used on a production floor
• Background in robotics, automotive, aerospace, or other hardware-related engineering environments
• Experience with data pipelines, data versioning, or MLOps tooling
• Working knowledge of container orchestration and infrastructure-as-code
