We are representing a confidential digital marketing organization in Bonn, Germany, supporting a major telecommunications client. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Manager SEA (m/w/d) to join their programmatic and performance marketing division. This senior role combines operational search engine advertising expertise with strategic consulting, focusing on driving conversion, efficiency, and sustainable growth across complex performance campaigns.

You will work in a hybrid capacity from Bonn or Hamburg, steering SEA initiatives across the full marketing funnel while challenging existing campaign structures and processes to deliver measurable improvements.

Responsibilities

• Translate strategic performance objectives into clear operational requirements and prioritize measures across partner teams and internal stakeholders
• Provide cross-functional leadership for performance-oriented SEA initiatives, ensuring goals, planning, execution, and optimization work cohesively
• Review and quality-check account structures, campaign architectures, keywords, ad copy, audiences, budgets, and bidding strategies to ensure alignment with defined KPIs
• Analyze performance data, critically evaluate existing measures and workflows, and develop concrete improvement approaches for efficiency, conversion rate, and scalability
• Advise internal stakeholders on campaign architecture, keyword and budget strategies, automation, measurement frameworks, and cross-channel integration with a performance marketing focus
• Design and implement testing frameworks for campaign types, ad formats, landing pages, audience segments, and bidding strategies; evaluate impact on conversion and scale
• Consider SEA within the broader channel ecosystem and develop integrated recommendations aligned with communication and performance goals
• Prepare results and recommendations for presentation to decision-makers and cross-functional teams
• Evolve working methods, quality standards, and processes to ensure successful approaches are sustainably embedded

What We're Looking For

• Several years of hands-on experience in search engine marketing with deep knowledge of planning, managing, and optimizing complex performance-driven SEA campaigns
• Operational platform expertise: first-hand campaign management experience and ability to assess account structures, setups, and optimization decisions in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising
• Strategic thinking: ability to contextualize performance data within broader business objectives, challenge existing approaches, and derive well-founded recommendations
• Critical mindset: constructively question existing measures and processes, identify improvement potential, and drive development with proactive ideas
• Leadership and consulting skills: clearly articulate technical requirements, guide operational teams effectively, and align diverse stakeholders toward shared solutions
• Strong tracking knowledge: solid understanding of conversion tracking, attribution models, GA4, and ideally Google Tag Manager
• Communication excellence: ability to explain complex topics clearly, justify recommendations convincingly, and present confidently to varied audiences
• Self-direction and organization: structured, independent work style with high quality standards; ability to maintain clarity across complex priorities and stakeholder groups
• Language: Very good German and English skills, written and spoken
