(Senior) Product Manager Heartbeat (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology client in their search for a Senior Product Manager to own their Energy Management System platform. This is a high-impact role where you'll define the product strategy for the intelligent control system that orchestrates solar, battery storage, heat pumps, and EV charging as one unified solution across multiple European markets.

As the product owner of this core platform, you'll set the technical direction, align cross-functional product teams, and ensure reliability at scale. You'll work at the intersection of hardware integration, IoT control systems, and energy optimization—deciding how the platform evolves to deliver more value from every kilowatt-hour generated and stored.

This role is based in Berlin, Germany with remote flexibility across Germany.

Responsibilities

• Own the product strategy and multi-market roadmap for the Energy Management System platform
• Define how solar, battery, heat pump, AC, and EV charging assets are controlled and optimized as one intelligent system
• Guide and align Product Managers across energy, heating, cooling, and mobility domains who build on your platform
• Drive reliability as a core product outcome—ensuring households can depend on the system 24/7
• Write specifications, lead discovery work, prioritize features, and ship iteratively
• Push the platform to support new hardware ecosystems and expand to additional markets
• Work closely with engineering on fleet operations, data pipelines, protocols, and edge reliability

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 7+ years of Product Management experience with Energy Management Systems, IoT platforms, embedded/edge systems, or similar control systems
• Proven track record owning a platform product that other teams and product areas depend on
• Experience setting direction and guiding other Product Managers within a technical domain (line management experience is a plus but not required)
• Strong focus on shipping reliability and scale, not just new features
• Technical depth to engage in detailed conversations about protocols, fleet operations, and system architecture with engineering teams
• Excellent English; German is a plus
• Based in Germany or able to relocate

Highly valued:

• Direct experience with home energy management systems, inverter/battery/EV control protocols, Modbus, OTA updates, or gateway security
• Background in optimization algorithms, energy forecasting, or dispatch systems
• Experience shipping an Energy Management System across multiple countries
• Line management experience with Product Managers
