AI First Builder (Product Management) (d/f/m)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in Berlin that is reimagining how product development happens in an AI-first world. They're moving beyond traditional handoffs between product, design, and engineering—and they're looking for builders who can own the complete loop from user problem to shipped feature.

This isn't traditional product management. You'll prototype, design, and build alongside a small focused team, using AI as a force multiplier to compress what used to take weeks into hours. If you're energized by shipping outcomes rather than managing roadmaps, and you're excited to stretch across disciplines rather than staying in a lane, this role is for you.

Responsibilities

• Take user problems from rough concept to shipped product with minimal handoffs—write the brief, design the flow, prototype it, and validate it with real users
• Use AI tools like Claude, Cursor, or similar to compress research, synthesis, and prototyping timelines from weeks to hours
• Structure ambiguous problems, identify what should and shouldn't be built, and make clear trade-offs when there are dozens of possible directions
• Work in small, focused teams of two to three people who share the same builder mindset
• Own outcomes, not outputs—measure your impact by changes in user behavior and key metrics, not ticket completion
• Give direct feedback across all levels, raise blockers early, and push back constructively when something isn't right
• Build prototypes, write SQL queries, read API specs, and write code to get features into users' hands faster

What We're Looking For

Your Craft:

• Proven product craft with a track record of shipping features that real people use—you can point to the metrics that moved as a result
• Builder track record: you've made things with AI, not just written specs about them—shipped products, agent workflows, or tools that real users have touched
• AI-native by default: regular use of tools like Claude, Cursor, Lovable or similar; you follow the AI product space closely and understand the difference between demos and production-ready solutions
• Personal AI workflows that make you meaningfully faster—you know when to trust AI output, when to edit it, and when to reject it
• Experience going from user problem to testable prototype independently, with output good enough that a team shipped from it
• Low attachment to how product management "should" be done—you care about outcomes, not process orthodoxy

Your Range:

• Product: identify opportunities, assess impact, and prioritize ruthlessly
• Design: strong taste and intuition for when something looks right but feels wrong
• Engineering: have used AI coding tools to build something real and can troubleshoot without complete dependence on engineers

How You Work:

• Data fluency: you know the metrics you were trying to move and can assess whether you moved them, with healthy skepticism about what metrics do and don't reveal
• Belief in experimentation and velocity to learn quickly—comfortable with A/B testing and eager to try new approaches to accelerate learning
• Experience working on products where mistakes have real consequences, and that raised your standards
• Track record of finding ways through blockers rather than waiting to be unblocked
• Fluency in English required

This role is not for you if:

• You're not genuinely excited about stretching across design and engineering functions
• You've never built an AI prototype or shipped code (side projects count)
• You pride yourself more on what you delivered than the outcome you achieved
• You need certainty, full briefs, or someone else's research to get started
• You don't believe in rapid learning and getting things into customers' hands early

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive for the Berlin market. Our client offers equity participation for all team members, 30 annual vacation days, flexible working arrangements, and the ability to work abroad for up to six weeks per year.
