Staff Security & Platform Engineer (d/f/m)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Staff Security & Platform Engineer to join their Corporate IT team in Berlin. In this role, you will:

• Develop tools and capabilities that ensure compliance with EU AI Act and GDPR, enabling teams across the organization to ship and deploy high-quality automations and internal tools securely
• Co-design and govern permissioning frameworks that define agent access controls, ensuring strict adherence to least-privilege principles
• Own MDM, endpoint security, and identity and access management across internal systems
• Lead incident response for security events involving agents or internal infrastructure
• Build, harden, and evolve the agentic platform layer alongside the Systems Engineer, including secure sandboxes, credential vaults, and CI/CD pipelines with embedded security checks
• Design and execute adversarial testing exercises against agent deployments, covering prompt injection, privilege escalation, and data exfiltration via reasoning chains
• Maintain a growing library of AI-specific attack patterns and test cases focused on internal business operations
• Brief leadership on emerging AI threat vectors and translate them into practical, actionable mitigations
• Partner closely with Legal, Risk, and Compliance teams to translate regulatory requirements into engineering-led solutions

What We're Looking For

• Solid background in security engineering with hands-on experience in penetration testing, threat modeling, or red teaming
• Genuine curiosity for finding vulnerabilities before others do
• Familiarity with AI and machine learning-specific attack surfaces, including prompt injection, data poisoning, model inversion, and indirect injection via documents or APIs
• Practical experience designing and enforcing least-privilege architectures
• Strong knowledge of identity and access management in real-world environments
• Deep understanding of GDPR and DSGVO in practice, with experience building or auditing data classification and retention frameworks
• Comfort working at the platform layer: CI/CD pipelines, secrets management, sandbox environments, and scripting/automation to build test suites and security tooling
• Network security fundamentals that allow credible conversations with third-party providers
• Clear communication skills and rigorous documentation practices
• Collaborative mindset—you view yourself as a partner to engineers and builders, not a blocker
