Senior Investment Operations Analyst – Derivatives

About This Role

Our talent team is representing a confidential financial services organization in their search for a Senior Investment Operations Analyst - Derivatives based in Puerto Rico. This is a senior-level position within the middle office, responsible for the full operational lifecycle of derivatives products. You'll own day-to-day derivative operations, serve as the escalation point for complex margin and settlement processes, and help design scalable processes and controls as the derivatives program expands.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete operational lifecycle for OTC derivatives including booking, confirmation, settlement, and lifecycle events such as resets, novations, and terminations
• Coordinate daily margin and collateral operations: respond to and issue margin calls, facilitate movement of cash and securities, and resolve disputes using ISDA, CSA, and related trading agreements
• Reconcile cash and exposure data between investment management systems and custodian/counterparty records; identify and resolve margin and trade breaks in a timely manner
• Support the expansion of the derivatives platform to include cleared derivatives and exchange-traded products including futures, contributing to process design, controls, and system readiness
• Maintain accuracy of derivative and complex-instrument data in the security master and support data governance initiatives
• Act as a subject-matter expert and escalation resource; drive standardization, automation, and root-cause analysis to improve operational efficiency
• Partner with accounting, compliance, and risk teams to ensure alignment with internal controls and regulatory requirements

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in investment operations, middle office, or trade support with significant depth in derivatives operations
• Strong working knowledge of the derivatives lifecycle and collateral mechanics across products including swaps, FX, futures, and options
• Demonstrated ability to independently own complex, non-standard operational challenges and drive them to resolution
• Experience working on time-sensitive tasks supporting trading and portfolio management functions
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to influence across teams
• Interest in leveraging technology to automate workflows and strengthen internal controls
• Ability to work remotely with reliable high-speed internet access while residing in the United States or Puerto Rico

Preferred qualifications:

• Hands-on experience with collateral and margin administration (ISDA/CSA, tri-party or bilateral collateral) and reconciliation tooling
• Background in insurance or statutory investment operations with familiarity with NAIC, SEC, and FINRA operational and reporting requirements
• Experience with trading platforms such as Bloomberg AIM, Aladdin, or Charles River
• Knowledge of automation tools and platforms including Snowflake, Sigma, Python, VBA, or SQL
• Interest in AI-driven process enhancement and data-quality validation
• Exposure to quantitative valuation, risk analytics, or cash flow modeling
• Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, accounting, data analytics, or a related field
