Senior Software Enginner (Full-stack Node + React)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech company building innovative cross-border payment infrastructure. Our client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their product-focused engineering pods and take ownership of full-stack initiatives that power financial services for users across emerging markets.

In this role, you'll design and build end-to-end features using a modern TypeScript stack, mentor engineers on your team, and leverage AI-assisted development as a core part of your workflow. This is a remote opportunity for candidates based in Latin America.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for medium-to-large features across the full stack, documenting decisions and planning for maintainability
• Build and maintain TypeScript/Node.js microservices, event handlers, and cronjobs alongside React front ends
• Use AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar) fluently in daily development, from scaffolding to code review, while maintaining high standards for correctness
• Take ownership of projects from design through production deployment, breaking down complex work across multiple services
• Write well-tested, maintainable code and conduct thorough code reviews, including for AI-generated code
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers on technical practices and responsible use of AI tooling
• Collaborate with engineers in other product pods when initiatives cross service boundaries
• Participate in on-call rotation for owned services and lead incident response
• Proactively identify and address technical debt, balancing delivery speed with system health

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated full-stack capability
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for production backend services
• Proficiency in React for production UIs, including state management, component design, and performance
• Experience designing and building REST or GraphQL APIs
• Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL or similar), including modeling and query optimization
• Familiarity with event-driven architecture and messaging systems (Kafka, SQS, or similar)
• Experience working in microservices environments
• Hands-on, daily experience using AI-assisted development tools for coding, debugging, and review; comfort with prompt engineering and sound judgment validating AI output
• Strong grasp of software design principles, error handling, and testing strategies
• Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
• Comfort operating in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Strong communication skills; proactive about sharing progress, blockers, and technical risks

Nice to Have:

• Experience building or integrating AI/LLM-powered features (RAG, agents, tool calling)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container-based deployments
• Background in fintech, payments, or financial systems
• Experience with GraphQL schema design or federation
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or similar)
• Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical design discussions
