Join PG Group as a full-time Fitter and play a vital role in keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly. We're seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team at our Port Elizabeth facility in South Africa, where you'll support continuous production across a dynamic shift environment.

About the Role

As a Fitter with PG Group, you'll work as part of the Engineering Department, reporting directly to the Engineering Co-ordinator. Your primary focus will be maintaining mechanical systems and equipment across our manufacturing site, ensuring machinery remains available and performing at optimal levels during shift operations. This is a hands-on Artisan position ideal for someone who takes pride in precision workmanship and problem-solving in a fast-paced industrial setting.

Your Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical faults across manufacturing equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to extend equipment life and prevent downtime
• Inspect machinery and components to identify wear, damage, or potential issues
• Support continuous shift operations and respond promptly to equipment failures
• Install, assemble, and adjust mechanical parts and systems as required
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs completed
• Work safely in compliance with all site health and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Completed Fitter trade qualification or relevant apprenticeship
• Proven experience working as a Fitter in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment
• Ability to work reliably across shift rosters, including continuous operations
• Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Commitment to health, safety, and quality standards
