Infrastructure Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization that is transforming how clinical teams leverage real-time data and AI/ML to improve patient outcomes. Our talent team is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing platform engineering function.

In this role, you will design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure that supports their clinical AI/ML platform. You'll develop CI/CD pipelines that enable cross-functional teams—software engineers, data scientists, and clinical developers—to accelerate delivery while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design cost-optimized, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure on AWS that scales to support enterprise healthcare deployments
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub that comply with regulatory change control processes
• Develop infrastructure guidelines, Terraform modules, and best practices to standardize platform development
• Monitor system performance and reliability; troubleshoot infrastructure issues and optimize cloud resource utilization
• Partner with security teams to implement HIPAA, HITRUST, and FDA-compliant infrastructure practices
• Architect and build an internal AI Ops platform for safely hosting AI/ML agents that optimize infrastructure and DevOps workflows

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of production cloud infrastructure experience on AWS in DevOps, Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering, or similar roles
• Proficiency with Kubernetes, preferably EKS, including cluster bootstrapping and day-2 operations
• Strong operational knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) including backups, failover, and performance tuning
• Deep expertise in Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code tools with demonstrated ability to build scalable modules
• Familiarity with observability tools, particularly Datadog
• Experience building infrastructure that handles sensitive PHI/PII data
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, preferably CircleCI
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Comfort handling ambiguity and uncertainty in a startup environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience using AI agents to optimize infrastructure management or DevOps workflows
• Disaster recovery or business continuity planning experience
• Multi-account, multi-cluster topology experience
• Background in healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries
• Chaos engineering or game-day facilitation experience
• Experience implementing and maintaining GitOps frameworks
