Ukrainian Sports Localization Specialist (Football)

We are representing a confidential client in the language services sector who needs a Ukrainian Sports Localization Specialist with deep football expertise. This is a remote position open to candidates anywhere, ideal for someone who combines native Ukrainian fluency with passion for football and strong linguistic capabilities.

Our talent team is looking for a specialist who can review, adapt, and localize football-related content so it truly resonates with Ukrainian audiences. You'll ensure accuracy, cultural relevance, and engaging delivery across multimedia formats.

Responsibilities

• Review, localize, fact-check, translate, and adapt sports content (primarily football) while following style guides and brand guidelines
• Conduct market-specific research on local football culture, terminology trends, and best localization practices for Ukrainian audiences
• Perform quality control, translation, copy editing, and machine translation post-editing tasks
• Provide constructive feedback on written content to maintain high standards
• Stay current on football news, player movements, league developments, and fan culture

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor's degree and/or 2+ years of professional experience in linguistics, sports journalism, copywriting, or copy-editing
• Extensive football knowledge and passion for the sport
• Experience translating and localizing multimedia content, including machine translation evaluation
• Native-level fluency in Ukrainian with excellent grammar and writing skills
• Strong creative writing, proofreading, and editing abilities in Ukrainian
• Tech-savvy with practical knowledge of computers, mobile devices, word processors, and spreadsheets
• Licensed version of MS Office applications
• Ability to work independently and remotely

Bonus qualifications:

• Published work on sports platforms or publications
• Experience with sports media platforms, live score applications, or sports streaming services
• Ability to adapt voice and style for younger football audiences and fan culture
