Chief of Staff (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in Berlin that is seeking an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly with their CEO on high-impact strategic initiatives. This is not a traditional coordination or PMO role—you will own end-to-end execution of business-critical projects from initial analysis through measurable results.

Responsibilities

You will work directly with the CEO and senior leadership on strategically significant initiatives that move meaningful metrics in the business plan. Your responsibilities include:

• Identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, assessing feasibility, and driving implementation
• Translating complex, unstructured problems into clear hypotheses, decisions, and execution workstreams
• Building business cases with robust financial modeling and critical evaluation of economics
• Sourcing, evaluating, and negotiating commercial terms with external partners
• Collaborating with Product, Technology, Marketing, and Operations teams to design and launch MVPs
• Owning projects from initial concept through go-live and measurable business impact

Example projects may include launching new business lines, building partnerships, testing marketing channels with performance metrics, evaluating regulatory opportunities, market expansion, pricing strategies, and other strategic initiatives. Success is measured by real problem-solving and business outcomes, not presentation quality.

What We're Looking For

• Academic excellence: Outstanding degree from a leading university
• Experience: Typically 3–8 years in relevant roles such as strategy consulting combined with operator experience, founders' office, or general management
• Analytical strength: Exceptional structured problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Learning agility: Ability to dive deep into new, complex topics very quickly
• Commercial judgment: Strong quantitative skills and business acumen
• Stakeholder management: Confidence engaging with founders, senior executives, and external partners
• Bias for action: High standards for quality and speed; when you see a problem, you take ownership and drive solutions rather than waiting for clarity on responsibilities
• German language: Near-native fluency is mandatory due to the regulated financial and tax environment—you must independently understand and navigate legal, tax, and regulatory nuances in German

Compensation
