AI Solution Architect (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential public-sector IT services organization based in Germany. They are seeking an AI Solution Architect to design and scale enterprise-grade AI/ML architectures in cloud environments. This is a fully remote position where you'll lead the technical direction of machine learning platforms, RAG implementations, and MLOps strategies for complex production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve enterprise AI/ML platform architectures with a focus on Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure
• Lead technical implementation of ML pipeline projects covering training, deployment, monitoring, and drift detection
• Architect and optimize RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems including chunking strategies, retrieval mechanisms, guardrails, and context orchestration
• Define and advance MLOps strategies encompassing CI/CD for models, experiment tracking, and model registry management
• Provide technical leadership and coordination for cross-functional teams of ML/AI engineers, LLM engineers, and MLOps engineers
• Advise internal and external stakeholders on AI architectures and present technical concepts to IT leadership and business units

What We're Looking For

• Deep experience with cloud-based AI/ML solutions on Microsoft Azure, particularly Azure Machine Learning and Azure OpenAI Service
• Hands-on MLOps expertise using tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Azure ML Pipelines
• Proven track record building RAG architectures, prompt engineering, and working with vector databases
• Experience integrating and orchestrating language models, ideally with frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Strong Python skills and practical experience with CI/CD for ML applications
• Proficiency with at least two ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
• Enterprise architecture experience in cloud environments
• Familiarity with adjacent technologies including data platforms, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), infrastructure as code (Terraform), and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights) is advantageous
• Understanding of AI governance, responsible AI principles, and enterprise security/data protection requirements
• Several years of experience with ML/AI architectures or comparable technical roles in enterprise settings
• Prior experience in technical leadership or architecture roles is preferred
• Cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) are a plus
• Energy sector or utilities experience and familiarity with data-driven use cases is ideal
• Excellent German language skills (C2 level) and good English proficiency required
