About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential international conservation organization with a global footprint spanning South America, Central America, Africa, and Asia. Our client seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer to own and evolve their mission-critical Azure infrastructure that enables field teams and program offices worldwide to operate seamlessly.

This is a strategic technical leadership role based in Guatemala, requiring someone who can architect resilient cloud systems, secure identity infrastructure, and serve as the go-to expert when complex Azure challenges arise. You'll be the foundational force ensuring technology systems stay robust and available so conservation work can continue uninterrupted.

Responsibilities

• Architect and manage the organization's Azure environment, including subscription provisioning, resource deployment, and building VMs (Windows, SQL, Red Hat, firewalls) across production and staging environments
• Configure and secure Microsoft Entra tenants, manage SSO through Azure Enterprise Apps, maintain RBAC and user groups, and proactively patch systems using PowerShell and Graph API automation
• Design and implement backup strategies and disaster recovery playbooks to ensure business continuity
• Troubleshoot complex networking across VNETs, sites, and tenants; manage firewalls, load balancers, and DNS (Azure and Cloudflare)
• Lead cloud infrastructure projects end-to-end, maintaining clear communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide expert-level support for Azure, Entra ID, and M365 issues
• Participate in occasional after-hours or weekend work for critical outages or planned maintenance

What We're Looking For

• Degree in IT or related field plus minimum 8 years of work experience, including at least 6 years in IT
• MUST HAVE: Verbal and written fluency in both English and Spanish
• Extensive hands-on experience managing large-scale, highly available Azure production systems in enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Windows/Linux servers
• Proficiency managing Windows domains and Active Directory
• Advanced PowerShell and Graph API skills for Azure management, workflow automation, and deployment orchestration
• Experience provisioning and managing access for Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry
• Hands-on experience integrating Microsoft Copilot for M365, Copilot Studio, and Copilot Agents, including data access control configuration and governance
• Proven ability to diagnose complex cloud and hybrid system issues using structured methodologies and develop scalable, sustainable solutions
• Strong project management, documentation, and organizational capabilities

• Must be currently based and authorized to work in one of the following countries: Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, or Guyana
