About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential alternative investment firm seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their London office. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a critical role in building and maintaining a world-class technology infrastructure environment. You'll work closely with colleagues across international offices and serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business users, making strong communication skills essential.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support DevOps systems including Puppet, Jenkins, GitHub, and SVN
- Manage software compilation, deployment, and lifecycle management for core application platforms
- Administer and automate Linux systems, including resource management, continuity and resiliency planning, security operations, and patching/upgrade lifecycle management
- Monitor and troubleshoot core systems, identifying solutions to resolve issues and recommending changes to improve performance
- Support business and technology development teams with dependency resolution and software testing methodologies
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years' experience in development or IT operations within financial services
- University degree preferred
- Hands-on experience with multiple DevOps tools:
- Infrastructure-as-code systems (Terraform, Puppet, etc.)
- CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Source Control Management (GitHub, SVN, etc.)
- Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Experience with public cloud management and automation (AWS, Azure, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to gather and translate business and technical requirements into reproducible and resilient technology systems
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and displays commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Team player who enjoys collaborating across the business
- Excellent communication skills for interfacing with both technical experts and business users
