About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential financial technology firm seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join their Trading team for Summer 2027. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on high-performance trading systems and contribute to tools that support critical trading decision-making and performance evaluation. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers to design and build components that enhance algorithmic capabilities while adding new features to existing infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Trading team to define project scope, requirements, and milestones
- Prepare design documentation and actively participate in architectural discussions with team members
- Build features in Go to enhance the Order Management System (OMS), which is responsible for making all trading-related decisions to ensure best execution
- Add analytics and metrics to measure the impact of your changes while incorporating feedback and iterating based on team input
- Demonstrate project progress through regular demos and presentations
What We're Looking For
- Class of 2028 pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Proficiency in at least one compiled language (e.g., Go, C++, Java)
- At least one previous internship involving work on backend systems in a production environment, preferably in a user-facing context
- Knowledge of relational databases (e.g., Postgres)
- Past experience with trading systems is a plus
- Detail-oriented, self-driven, analytical, and enthusiastic about working on impactful projects
- Strong communication skills with an ability to convey technical concepts clearly
- Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a collaborative team environment
- Energetic, creative, and able to manage tasks independently
