Regional SEO Team Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital marketing organization seeking a Regional SEO Team Lead to own delivery, growth, and operational excellence of SEO services across a major global region. This is a senior operational leadership position based in London, responsible for managing all SEO services including Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and emerging AI-optimized search (AIO/GEO/LLM) for either the EMEA & APAC region.

Our talent team is looking for a leader who can bridge strategic direction with regional execution, ensuring SEO strategies align with global best practices while adapting to regional client needs. You will oversee a regional SEO team, drive innovation, and maintain strong commercial health across engagements.

Responsibilities

• Lead all SEO delivery across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and AI-optimized search within your assigned region
• Ensure deliverables adhere to global frameworks, SOPs, and quality standards
• Collaborate with global and regional counterparts to create and maintain global SOPs for efficiency and consistency
• Oversee regional SEO resourcing (in-house and external), capacity planning, and project prioritization
• Ensure projects are executed according to defined metrics and remain within budget
• Monitor team time tracking for project accuracy and provide insights for replicating successes
• Drive SEO account growth, identifying upsell opportunities and supporting pre-sales with scoping and proposals
• Maximize internal resource usage while managing vendor outsourcing within approved guidelines
• Manage and mentor SEO specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
• Ensure clear training agendas and SMART objectives for every team member's development
• Align Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, AIO/GEO, Content, UX/CRO, and Paid Media teams for integrated strategies
• Participate in key client calls including strategy reviews, technical updates, and performance reporting
• Support quarterly business reviews and strategic reviews to ensure SEO contributes to client success
• Champion AI and GenAI innovation, encouraging adoption of new tools and automation

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience in SEO leadership, preferably in an agency or digital marketing environment
• Deep expertise across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and emerging AI-optimized search practices
• Proven track record managing and mentoring SEO teams
• Strong commercial acumen with experience driving account growth and achieving margin targets
• Experience with global frameworks, SOPs, and process standardization
• Excellent capacity planning and resource management skills
• Strong client engagement and communication abilities
• Experience with vendor management and outsourcing processes
• Track record fostering collaboration across cross-functional teams (Content, UX/CRO, Paid Media)
• Passion for innovation, particularly around AI and automation in SEO
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution
