Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

Our client, a confidential healthcare technology organization, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their development team in Mainz. This role offers the opportunity to take genuine ownership of technical solutions while contributing to a meaningful architectural evolution of production systems used daily in the healthcare sector.

We are representing a company that values engineers who shape technical decisions rather than simply executing predefined tasks. You'll work on modernizing existing systems, implementing AI-assisted development practices, and building features that have real-world impact in healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance web applications using C#, ASP.NET Core, and ReactJS
• Take end-to-end ownership of features from technical design through production release
• Contribute to architectural modernization efforts, transitioning toward modular architecture with clear domain boundaries
• Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support automated release processes
• Implement AI-assisted development practices while maintaining sound technical judgment in architectural decisions and code reviews
• Manage releases within established change management processes
• Ensure software quality through automated testing, code reviews, and mentoring of team members
• Work with healthcare communication standards including FHIR and HL7

What We're Looking For

• Degree or vocational qualification in Computer Science, Software Development, or a comparable field
• Several years of professional experience with C#,.NET Core, and Entity Framework
• Hands-on experience with REST APIs, MS SQL, and modern JavaScript technologies (React, TypeScript, Angular JS, jQuery)
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Azure hosting
• Knowledge of healthcare communication standards such as FHIR or HL7
• Experience taking end-to-end ownership of services or domains from design through production
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools with the ability to critically evaluate outputs
• Fluent English skills (B2+ level required)
• German language skills are a plus
