[2027 Master’s graduates] Consulting Associate (European Competition practice)

Responsibilities

Our talent team is representing a confidential economics consulting firm seeking Consulting Associates for their European Competition practice in London. In this entry-level role for 2027 Master's graduates, you will work closely with senior consultants and experts on high-profile competition cases across Europe, contributing immediately to significant matters involving mergers, regulatory proceedings, and commercial disputes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Identifying potential issues and conducting analyses to support economic arguments in competition cases
• Assembling compelling evidence from data and research to support expert opinions and business recommendations
• Programming, building models, and performing regression analyses using statistical tools such as Stata, Python, or R, including large-scale data projects requiring cloud computing
• Assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers summarising conclusions and recommendations
• Communicating complex economic concepts to non-experts in an accessible manner
• Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of all analyses and opinions
• Participating in practice-building activities including training, recruiting, and knowledge sharing

What We're Looking For

• First degree in economics with a postgraduate qualification (MSc/MPhil) in economics from well-regarded institutions, graduating between December 2026 and August 2027
• Strong foundation in microeconomics, with specialism in industrial economics preferred
• High degree of numeracy and comfort with data manipulation; familiarity with econometric techniques desirable
• Curious and analytical thinkers who bring creative approaches to non-standard problems
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages
• Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership
• Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities
• Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills
• Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, or related activities

The role is based in London with office-based work expected 3-4 days per week. Minimal travel is required as most work occurs in the office. Additional remote work options are available during certain periods.
