Senior Go Engineer, Full Stack

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology company seeking a Senior Go Engineer with full-stack capabilities. In this role, you will architect features from the database layer through to the browser, with your primary focus on the Go backend, APIs, data models, and system design. You'll also work in the React/TypeScript frontend whenever features require it.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Building, scaling, and maintaining modern web applications with the heavy lifting in Go backends
• Designing and implementing clean APIs while ensuring seamless integration into performant, accessible React frontends
• Maintaining high standards for code quality and performance across the entire stack, from backend microservices to frontend component libraries
• Working closely with Product and Design teams to turn ambiguous requirements into polished features
• Owning the full lifecycle of features, from conception through deployment and maintenance
• Leveraging AI coding tools as collaborative partners while maintaining full ownership of production code quality

What We're Looking For

Our client needs an engineer who lives in the backend but enjoys reaching across the stack. The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 6+ years of professional software engineering experience in production environments
• Proven experience architecting and maintaining high-scale web APIs, with 2+ years shipping Go in production
• Comfort owning backend system design end-to-end
• Motivation and willingness to work in React/TypeScript frontends, with enough baseline ability to ship features when needed (prior hands-on React/TypeScript experience is a plus but not required)
• A DevOps mindset, comfortable with CI/CD, automated testing, and version control
• Fluent English with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
• An agentic engineering mindset—treating AI coding agents as collaborators while maintaining full ownership of code quality

This position is based in Berlin, Germany, though the team is distributed across Europe (within +/- 1 hour of CET).
