Senior QA Engineer

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential digital technology consultancy in Scotland, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to drive quality excellence across their delivery teams. In this role, you will:

• Define and shape testing strategies for complex features, embedding risk analysis into development workflows and leading exploratory testing initiatives
• Build and evolve modular, reusable automation frameworks with scalable components that integrate seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines
• Design and automate non-functional tests covering performance, security, and accessibility requirements to ensure quality is embedded from the start
• Participate in peer code reviews to maintain robust automation standards and uphold overall software reliability
• Lead defect triage efforts and proactively identify risks before they impact delivery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to champion modern QA best practices throughout the development lifecycle

What We're Looking For

We're representing a client who values technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving. The ideal candidate will bring:

• Comprehensive knowledge of QA best practices and methodologies, including SDLC and Agile frameworks
• Advanced automation skills using Playwright, with proven ability to build, extend, and maintain scalable testing frameworks
• Hands-on programming experience in C# or TypeScript for testing web applications
• Well-rounded expertise across functional, non-functional, white-box, and security testing fundamentals
• Strong problem-solving mindset with proactive defect management and risk anticipation capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and stakeholders
• Natural curiosity and adaptability to learn new project domains quickly

This is an initial 6-month contract engagement (Inside IR35) with a hybrid working arrangement requiring 2 days per week in the Dundee office.
