Overview

We are representing a leading FMCG manufacturer in the UK on an exciting 12-month fixed-term contract for a Data Lead. This is a strategic role within a major ERP transformation programme, based in Ashby de la Zouch with regular travel to other UK sites and occasional European locations. The position offers a hybrid working model with approximately three days per week on-site collaboration.

Our client operates a flexible working culture with dynamic Friday hours where operationally feasible. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data transformation professional to make a significant impact during a critical business transformation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the manufacturing operations data workstream across the ERP transformation programme
  • Define and deliver the data migration strategy for manufacturing, supply chain, operations and logistics data, ensuring alignment with programme objectives and implementation timelines
  • Drive data governance, quality and migration activities including data cleansing, validation, mapping and migration
  • Establish governance frameworks, data standards and controls that ensure data accuracy and integrity throughout the programme lifecycle
  • Partner with business leaders, functional teams, subject matter experts and Group stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve issues and communicate progress
  • Coordinate cross-functional activities, prioritise complex dependencies, and manage risks and issues across multiple data workstreams
  • Work closely with technical teams to support data architecture, master data management, system integration and adoption of best practice approaches
  • Create an environment of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the programme

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience leading data workstreams within large-scale ERP transformation programmes, specifically for manufacturing operations data within manufacturing, FMCG or consumer packaged goods environments
  • Demonstrated expertise in data migration, governance, cleansing and business readiness activities
  • Experience establishing data governance frameworks, master data standards and data quality controls
  • Strong understanding of ERP data structures, ETL processes, SQL and reporting tools such as Power BI
  • Experience working with enterprise ERP platforms and data migration tools
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and build strong relationships across functions
  • Capability to lead multiple cross-functional workstreams to deliver high-quality outcomes in complex transformation environments
  • Significant experience leading data delivery within ERP transformation programmes
  • Experience working in complex business environments where data accuracy is critical to operational success

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • DAMA Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) qualification is highly desirable
  • PRINCE2, PMP, Agile or similar project management qualification would be advantageous
  • Recent Infor M3 and Infor Data Management experience would be highly advantageous, although experience with other major ERP platforms will also be considered
