DevOps Engineer Application Management Services (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential IT consultancy based in Germany that operates critical platform infrastructure for public sector clients. Our talent team is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their Application Management Services division, where you'll design and operate complete deployment platforms—not just maintain pipelines.

This role offers responsibility for production environments, modern DevOps practices from build to rollout, and hands-on work with Kubernetes, GitOps, and infrastructure automation. You'll work across the entire stack: from source code through CI/CD, configuration management, and infrastructure to live operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and optimize automated build, test, and deployment processes
• Develop custom Puppet modules and automation solutions
• Execute rollouts in client production environments
• Support development teams on architecture and operations questions
• Analyze and resolve complex production incidents as third-level support
• Build and evolve monitoring, logging, and observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Operate and enhance CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven, Gradle, npm, Nexus)
• Manage and develop Kubernetes platforms using Cluster API and ArgoCD
• Contribute to modern GitOps and cloud-native initiatives

What We're Looking For

Must-Have:

• Experience in Linux environments (Ubuntu Server)
• Hands-on experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code
• Understanding of modern DevOps principles
• Deep knowledge in at least one area: Puppet/Bolt, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes/CAPI, or Linux administration
• Passion for sustainable solutions and autonomous working
• Native-level German and good English proficiency

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience operating business-critical applications
• PostgreSQL expertise
• Knowledge of observability and monitoring solutions
• Shell scripting experience (Bash or PowerShell)
• Familiarity with Java/Kotlin or Spring Boot
• Background in regulated or security-critical environments
