Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential energy sector client seeking a Petroleum Engineer to support technical due diligence and engineering validation for upstream oil and gas projects. This remote role involves independent engineering advisory services for large-scale energy infrastructure financing initiatives across the United States, with occasional on-site meetings expected.

You will deliver bankable, technically defensible independent engineering advisory services by evaluating reservoir performance, reserves, production forecasts, and field development plans. Your work will support credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and risk assessment activities for high-impact exploration and production projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent engineering advisory support for technical due diligence, credit evaluation, and lifecycle monitoring activities with emphasis on reservoir performance, reserves, production forecasts, and field development
• Review project documentation, evaluate technical and commercial interfaces, identify risks and mitigations, and validate assumptions
• Support conditions precedent and disbursement readiness reviews where applicable
• Prepare defensible work products including reserve estimates, decline curves, production models, field development plans, and recovery factor analyses
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders to support timely decision-making
• Participate in data room reviews, borrower/contractor interviews, site observations, monthly monitoring meetings, and risk register updates
• Prepare independent engineer reports for credit and program governance stakeholders
• Translate technical evidence into actionable risk, compliance, and financing implications

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering, engineering, geoscience, or related technical field
• 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience
• Demonstrated work on oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients
• Experience with independent engineering review, technical due diligence, and risk assessment
• Expertise in reservoir performance, reserves evaluation, production forecasting, and field development
• Strong analytical skills with Excel-based modeling and data room review experience
• Excellent report writing and stakeholder coordination capabilities
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Preferred:

• PE, PMP, CSP, API, NACE/AMPP, PMI, or discipline-specific credentials
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio

This is a 1099 contract position on an exempt basis (no overtime pay). The role is remote within the United States with occasional on-site meetings expected in Washington, DC and at project sites nationwide. A standard background check is required.

Pay

Compensation is dependent on experience (DOE) and will be discussed during the screening process with our recruiting team.
