About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Japanese Linguistic Expert for fully remote contract work. This role involves audio transcription, content evaluation, and quality assurance for cutting-edge language models. Candidates must be based in Japan and available for 10–20 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Transcribe and optimize audio and video content in Japanese, ensuring clarity and accuracy
- Produce high-quality written outputs in Japanese, with English support when required
- Develop detailed evaluation rubrics and grading guidelines in both Japanese and English
- Conduct model testing and grading, providing structured feedback to improve performance
- Participate in quality assurance and review cycles to maintain consistency and reliability
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and professional fluency in English
- Strong writing, editing, and critical thinking skills
- Familiarity with spoken Japanese, regional dialects, and honorific systems
- Ability to transcribe and analyze Japanese audio content accurately
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- College students or recent graduates welcome
- Background in linguistics, humanities, social sciences, journalism, or technical disciplines
- Experience with transcription, annotation, localization, or research workflows in Japanese
- Interest in AI, language models, or applied research environments
