People Business Partner (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential greentech organization based in Berlin that is scaling rapidly. Our client is building out their people function and needs an experienced People Business Partner to shape how the organization grows, leads, and collaborates across technical teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll own the full employee lifecycle while partnering closely with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end recruitment for all roles within assigned teams, developing targeted search strategies and coaching hiring managers to deliver excellent candidate experiences
• Serve as the primary HR contact for employees in your assigned teams, supporting conflict resolution, feedback conversations, and employee inquiries
• Partner with team leads as a trusted advisor, providing proactive insights on people metrics including productivity, engagement, retention, and performance cycles
• Develop and deliver leadership training programs to strengthen management capabilities
• Coach users on HR systems and processes, providing administrative support to resolve issues quickly
• Maintain employee data across personnel files, HRIS, contracts, and absence records
• Own all payroll processes within the organization's HRIS platform
• Analyze feedback and people data to identify improvement areas and develop actionable recommendations on turnover, retention, and engagement
• Guide teams and leaders through organizational change as a positive force

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Degree in business, social sciences, psychology, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum 3 years of HR experience in a startup or scale-up environment (internships included)
• Demonstrated experience hiring for technical roles
• Knowledge of German labor law, payroll processes, and employee lifecycle management
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English
