Senior Engineering Manager (hands-on) – Get A Job.ai Clinic

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthtech organization in Paris that is revolutionizing how people access medical care through AI-powered solutions. Our client is building a digital health platform that combines conversational AI with real medical services at significant scale across Europe.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the engineering team behind a live AI health assistant and the clinical platform that supports it. You'll be managing and building alongside a team working at the intersection of product engineering, machine learning, and healthcare delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll shape both the technical architecture and the team culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a high-performing engineering team building AI-powered health services and clinical platforms
• Own hiring, onboarding, feedback cycles, and maintaining high talent density across the engineering organization
• Guide architectural decisions for scaling conversational AI systems, including agentic frameworks and multi-modal capabilities
• Drive alignment between engineering crews and medical teams to ensure seamless member experiences from consultation to care delivery
• Maintain operational excellence for 24/7 real-time services, including latency optimization, error monitoring, and sustainable on-call practices
• Continue hands-on coding, code reviews, and shipping features alongside your team
• Partner with product and design as an equal to shape roadmap, communicate trade-offs, and commit to realistic delivery timelines
• Establish and uphold engineering excellence standards across the organization

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience leading and building engineering teams with a demonstrated track record of developing high performers
• Strong technical foundation with experience establishing engineering standards and guiding architectural decisions
• Hands-on engineering background with eagerness to continue writing and reviewing code
• Experience shipping AI or LLM products to production is a significant advantage
• Comfort with modern development practices and AI-assisted development tools
• Leadership style focused on psychological safety, continuous learning, and developing people alongside products
• Self-starting, collaborative, humble, and curious mindset with strong growth orientation
• Genuine excitement about healthcare technology and applying AI to high-stakes, real-world problems
• Ex-founders often thrive in this environment
• Fluency in English; French language skills are beneficial for this Paris-based role
