Business Data Analyst Finance & Requirements Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential organization in Berlin seeking a Business Data Analyst for Finance & Requirements Management. This is a part-time position at 30 hours per week. You will serve as the critical link between business stakeholders, finance teams, and technical development groups, ensuring that functional requirements are translated into effective data-driven solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Capturing, structuring, and evaluating requirements from business, finance, controlling, and related departments
• Analyzing business processes, data flows, and functional use cases with a focus on accounting-relevant transactions, billing processes, commission distributions, and reporting requirements
• Validating data for plausibility, completeness, consistency, and suitability for specific business applications
• Developing and documenting functional requirements and translating them into actionable technical specifications
• Creating functional concepts, specifications, data logic documentation, mapping documentation, acceptance criteria, and test cases
• Coordinating requirements, priorities, and solution approaches between business units and technical teams
• Supporting quality assurance and performing functional validation of implemented solutions and reports
• Documenting and continuously optimizing processes, requirements, and data structures

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Completed degree or vocational training in business administration, finance/controlling, business informatics, data analysis, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience analyzing commercial, financial, or billing-related data
• Experience in business analysis, requirements engineering, or a comparable interface function
• Strong understanding of business and financial processes, particularly in billing, reporting, commissions, controlling, or finance
• Ability to systematically capture functional requirements, critically evaluate them, prioritize, and convert them into clear implementation specifications
• Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of data structures, data quality, and functional data modeling
• Experience with BI and reporting solutions; knowledge of SQL, Python, or comparable scripting/programming languages is advantageous
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to bring together diverse stakeholders
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented work approach
• Very good German and good English language skills
