Innovative Planning Manager (Data Centres/Buildings/High-tech/Infrastructure) – UK (Hybrid)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential project management consultancy that is redefining how complex construction projects are delivered across the UK and internationally. Our client works on some of the most technically demanding environments in infrastructure and high-tech sectors.

This is a senior planning leadership role for someone who wants to move beyond traditional construction planning approaches. You'll drive planning excellence on flagship projects while developing scalable solutions that elevate the entire discipline.

Responsibilities

• Own the project plan for one or more complex construction projects, ensuring effective execution, delay mitigation, and commercial management
• Drive accountability by ensuring all project stakeholders understand and work to the plan, regardless of resistance
• Provide clear reporting to stakeholders at all levels with actionable insights that improve delivery efficiency
• Develop scalable solutions by creating repeatable best practices and tools in collaboration with the broader team
• Develop people by maximizing team development and educating clients to improve their planning capabilities
• Lead strategic planning that accounts for broad project context and objectives

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Skills:

• Mastery-level construction project planning capability across all aspects of complex delivery
• Strategic planning experience that considers broader project objectives and operating context
• Strong communication skills with the presence and influence to drive change in construction teams
• Proven leadership and coaching ability with teams
• Track record of implementing scalable, repeatable solutions that created significant positive impact
• Experience on complex projects in sectors such as data centers, infrastructure, high-tech facilities, or complex buildings

This role is not suitable if you:

Project Types: You may work on data centers, infrastructure programmes, advanced manufacturing facilities, life sciences projects, or other technically complex environments with values from £1m to £1bn+.

Location: Hybrid working model based in London. Expect a mix of home working, site visits across the UK, office workshops, and potential international travel to Europe or the Middle East depending on project needs.
