About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential quantum computing organization in their search for a Senior Technical Program Manager to join their team in London. Our client is at the forefront of quantum technology development, working with leading research institutions and commercial partners worldwide to deliver cutting-edge scientific projects.

In this role, you will manage a portfolio of complex research and delivery programs, ensuring projects are executed predictably and transparently. You will serve as a key liaison between research teams, commercial stakeholders, and leadership, providing the structure and clarity needed to translate scientific objectives into successful outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for assigned programs, managing communications with internal leaders and external stakeholders regarding status, delivery commitments, and project progress
• Ensure all research and delivery projects have clear objectives, scope, milestones, success criteria, ownership, and governance structures in place
• Identify, escalate, and actively manage project risks, dependencies, and delivery issues to enable timely corrective actions
• Contribute to forecasting and capacity-planning activities by providing accurate project plans, estimates, and risk assessments
• Maintain project tracking, resource management, and reporting systems with accurate and timely data entry
• Support financial and accounting requirements through accurate tracking of effort, time allocation, and project costs
• Enforce scope management and change-control processes while enabling informed strategic trade-offs when necessary
• Report progress consistently to senior leadership in an appropriate manner

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Master's degree in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
• 2+ years of experience managing complex research programs with demonstrated successful outcomes

Highly valued experience and skills:

• PhD in quantum computing, physics, computer science, or related field
• Experience working with or exposure to quantum technologies
• Track record of managing customer relationships and delivering complex projects successfully
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without formal authority
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively
• Strong organizational abilities and experience managing multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
