Law Assessment Expert – Fully Remote | Upto $105/hr

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential organization in the AI research sector that needs seasoned legal professionals to help develop advanced assessment content. This is a fully remote contract role based in Canada, offering flexible commitment of 10+ hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Author original law questions that test deep conceptual understanding rather than surface-level recall
• Ensure all questions are unambiguous, self-contained, and precisely defined with complete information in the problem statement
• Rate question difficulty across three tiers: Medium (introductory undergraduate), Hard (advanced undergraduate), or Expert (post-graduate and above)
• Develop 1 correct answer and 9 plausible but subtly incorrect alternatives to challenge expert-level solvers
• Write step-by-step Chain-of-Thought solutions with clear, concise reasoning in markdown format
• Supply 1–5 academic references per question from reputable sources such as peer-reviewed journals and legal repositories
• For verification tasks: identify and flag issues with clarity, completeness, precision, or solvability, and justify any edits made

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Qualifications:

• JD, LLM, SJD, or doctoral candidate in Law or a closely related field
• Master's degree may be considered for candidates with exceptional depth in a specific legal subdomain
• Strong command of legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, and jurisprudential theory
• Excellent written English with the ability to express complex legal ideas clearly and concisely

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with bar exam writing, legal academia, or judicial clerkships is a strong plus
