About This Role
We are representing a confidential technology organization in Hamburg that is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to take ownership of their operational IT environment. This is not a helpdesk role—it's a position with real responsibility, decision-making authority, and visible impact on the business. You'll manage the day-to-day IT operations on-site, including Microsoft 365 administration, Windows client management, user and permissions management, and server/NAS infrastructure.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Hamburg with some remote flexibility. Our client values pragmatic problem-solving, documentation discipline, and a service-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for operational IT support, handling tickets and user requests at 1st and 2nd level
- Administer Microsoft 365 environment including user accounts, groups, licenses, permissions, Exchange Online, shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and Teams
- Deploy and configure Windows clients, laptops, and workstations; support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Manage printers, peripherals, and standard software installations
- Support server and NAS systems, file storage structures, licensing, IT procurement, inventory management, and asset tracking
- Document systems, processes, and solutions clearly and consistently
- Contribute to IT security fundamentals including MFA implementation, update management, and permission concepts
- Coordinate with parent company IT teams and external service providers
What We're Looking For
- Several years of professional experience in IT administration, IT operations, or IT support roles
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows clients, Microsoft 365, user and permissions management, and email environments
- Foundational experience with servers, NAS systems, file storage, and structured IT operations
- Independent, pragmatic, and service-oriented working style with clear prioritization skills
- Strong German language skills (required for daily operations)
- Willingness to work predominantly on-site in Hamburg
