Data Engineer Junior – Schwerpunkt Datenpipelines (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization based in Bonn that is seeking a Junior Data Engineer with a focus on data pipelines. In this role, you will work alongside a team of five analytics and data experts to develop modern data solutions that support reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Building and maintaining data pipelines and data processing workflows to deliver high-quality, curated data
• Supporting the provision of data for analytics, reporting, and other data-driven use cases
• Participating in data quality checks and troubleshooting data issues
• Documenting data flows, interfaces, and technical relationships in a clear and understandable manner
• Collaborating closely with analysts, data scientists, architecture teams, development teams, and business stakeholders
• Contributing to the implementation of standards for data quality, governance, and data reusability

What We're Looking For

Our client is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Business Informatics, or a related field
• Initial practical experience in data engineering through professional work, university studies, internships, or personal projects
• Strong SQL skills and foundational experience with Python for data processing and analysis
• Interest in data modeling and modern data platforms, with ideally some hands-on exposure
• Initial experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, or comparable data integration tasks
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or comparable cloud and data platforms is desirable
• Experience with Git or other version control systems is a plus
• Structured, detail-oriented, and solution-focused work approach
• Enjoyment of analyzing technical questions and developing solutions collaboratively within a team
• Commitment to clear documentation of work results
• Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and business teams
• Interest in continuous development in data engineering, analytics, and modern data platforms
• German language proficiency required for this Bonn-based position

Pay
