Responsibilities
Our client, a confidential online gaming provider, is seeking a Senior Game Mathematician to join their game development team in Europe. Working closely with product teams and fellow mathematicians, you will:
- Design and develop game mathematics and mechanics for slot and casino products
- Fine-tune mathematical models to optimize player engagement and product performance
- Run simulations to validate game math against desired outcomes and competitive benchmarks
- Perform competitive analysis to extract insights and inform design decisions
- Build rapid prototypes to test and prove game mechanic concepts
- Collaborate across development teams, providing detailed mathematical specifications
- Analyze player investigation cases, calculating win probabilities and risk assessments
- Support analytical needs including Big Win validations, session analysis, and RTP deviation monitoring
- Contribute to knowledge sharing and process improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 3+ years of proven experience as a game mathematician in the online gambling industry
- Scripting and programming skills (TypeScript or JavaScript preferred, any language considered)
- Solid understanding of programming paradigms
- Strong aptitude for solving complex, abstract mathematical problems
- Exceptional attention to detail with ability to identify and troubleshoot errors in mathematical models
- Genuine interest in slot games from both developer and player perspectives
- Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate on concepts
- Basic knowledge of HTTP client-server architecture
- Data-driven, analytical approach to decision-making
- Motivated by challenging problems and ambitious goals
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
Preferred:
- Strong mathematical intuition, creativity, and intellectual curiosity
- Player-centric perspective on game design
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar collaboration tools
