About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential sports technology organization seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their elite motorsport development team in London. Our client provides race management and team strategy systems to top-tier motorsport series worldwide, including major Formula racing categories, endurance events, and premier racing championships across the globe.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a passionate motorsport enthusiast who wants to build software that directly impacts race-day performance for world-championship teams and organizers. You'll lead development of sophisticated RaceWatch products, particularly focusing on Endurance racing strategy while contributing across the entire motorsport suite.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of RaceWatch software for one or more motorsport series
  • Collaborate with product managers and customers to design features and establish development priorities
  • Identify and implement innovative new capabilities within the platform
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable code in C/C++
  • Ensure code quality, organization, and adherence to best practices throughout the development lifecycle
  • Maintain and enhance software reliability across production systems
  • Support live motorsport events on weekends on a rotational basis with the team
  • Anticipate and proactively meet customer needs in a fast-paced environment

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • Genuine passion for motorsport
  • 5+ years of experience in fast-paced technical environments delivering customer-facing software
  • Proven track record building applications in C/C++
  • Experience developing products through their entire lifecycle, including scaling and ongoing support
  • Aptitude for working with complex data sets
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers
  • Customer-focused mindset with willingness to go above and beyond
  • Ability to weekend coverage for live racing events (rotational)
  • Capacity to multi-task and thrive in dynamic environments with shifting priorities

Preferred:

  • Degree in computer science or other scientific/technical discipline
  • Prior motorsport industry experience
  • Understanding of challenges faced by motorsport officials and racing teams during event management
  • Experience with ticketing and project management platforms (JIRA, Monday, etc.)
  • Windows application development experience in Visual Studio
  • Video processing application development background
